Process for a New Invention or Creative Work

So you have just discovered the newest drug or painted a picture, or created software program. What next?

1. Contact our office
2. Submit a Disclosure Form and contact our Office. Indicate the following:
   1. What has been created/invented?
   2. Why it has market value?
   3. Whether you have published or plan to publish?
   4. Was it sponsored? Federal or private?
3. Claim personal ownership, or assign to FSU in return for:
   1. Patent/Copyright prosecution by FSU
   2. Marketing/Licensing Efforts by FSU
   3. Royalty participation by Inventors/Authors
4. Collaborate with:
   1. The OIPDC staff
   2. Outside legal counsel to obtain useful protection
   3. Licensees to help insure your work is successfully used.
