“Establishing and Maintaining an Effective and Efficient Technology Transfer Presence - The Sequel”represents the continuing collaboration between the technology transfer offices of Florida State University and Florida A&M University to develop training materials about university technology transfer for research administrators at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Funded by the National Science Foundation’s Partnerships For Innovation program (PFI), it is part of the “TechLink Partnership Network” project , designed to increase capacity to develop technology transfer programs at HBCUs and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSI). During the course of this project we have also realized that the materials should be of great interest to all smaller universities that may not have a technology transfer office or personnel in place.
“Establishing and Maintaining an Effective and Efficient Technology Transfer Presence - The Sequel”was the second in a series of educational training programs. It was a one-day workshop sponsored by National Sponsored Program Administrators Alliance (NSPAA) and hosted by the Jackson State University Office of Research Development and Federal Relations (new link for JSU - http://www.jsums.edu/~ordsfr) on June 7, 2006, in Jackson, Mississippi.
This is the second year of this program. Please click here for the 2005 Program held at Norfolk Virgina. Additional topics added to the 2006 program include: Disclosures, Provisional Patents, and Licensing. The IP Primer session was given by a new speaker and provides another perspective on introduction to IP and the Resources section contains some updates including dates for future IP workshops and seminars around the country.
